Congressman Richard Neal, the chair of the Ways and Means Committee, and Republican Governor Charlie Baker have come together to call for a new authority to oversee expanded east-west commuter rail in Massachusetts. Neal, a Democrat from the 1st district, spoke alongside the governor and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno at the renovated Union Station in Springfield, which will be a key link in the expansion.
