New York state lawmakers have left Albany – this time for good. The Assembly was back at the capitol in mid-June to finish its work on a number of bills, and now lawmakers have returned to their districts for the rest of the year. In the coming months, Governor Kathy Hochul and fellow Democrats who control the legislature will start mapping out the next state session and budget, while also keeping a close eye on the 2024 campaign calendar.
